Purpose, in Bite Size

It's tricky to stay on top of an infinite flow of tasks. It's hard to remember (and attempt at applying) everything you get taught in masterclasses. And it's unfathomably difficult to remember why you're doing any of this in the first place. I found that my motivation has become a bit sketchy and saggy, if you will. I don't really know why, but I'm an awfully unmotivated person. I won't try too hard unless I see the point. And most of the time that’s just what I fail to see. That's the point. Anyway, not much point in telling you my life story. One thing led to another and I Googled “why am i so unmotivated”. It’s hardly cutting-edge, but here is what I found:

  1. Your goal isn’t yours. It doesn’t really matter to you. Kill the goal and think what path you’d choose if you had zero obligations.
  2. You’re always running away. Instead of running towards pleasure, you’re only running away from pain. Allow things to be good and stop creating conditions where you need to escape.
  3. You haven’t gotten clear on your “deep why” (ironic quote marks courtesy of me). Why is your goal important to you? Spend some time alone and think of the core of your life.
  4. You’re bad at remembering why you’re doing what you’re doing. Daily commit to ten minutes every day and reconnect with what gives you energy.

I’ll leave that there. Now go reconnect with your purpose and ponder your “deep why”.Source: http://paidtoexist.com/why-youre-unmotivated/
