D-day (deadline day)

This is the first blog of SCA's sixteenth intake, and somehow that responsibility has landed on me, which is the realisation I made this morning, so welcome. Try to think of this post as one of the extended works of an off-brand Shakespeare or Charles Dickens.

I'll start by telling you what's been on my mind lately, 'shit, I wish I thought of that'… I think this might be my mantra for the year.

Thanks to three days at SCA, my morning commutes are already forever changed. Instead of my usual 30 delicious minutes of zoning out or eavesdropping on an intense phone argument (the latest gossip from the number 2 came from the man behind me, who had clearly left the toilet seat up one too many times), I now gaze longingly out the window every time I pass a billboard or bus stop ad. Which, when you live in London, is often.

So, I now seem to be wired with the inability to ignore an ad, which is both great for the inspiration jar and jarring for the self-esteem.

I hope this is the year where the  ‘shit I wish I thought of that’ moments turn into ‘shit I thought of that’ moments instead.

Let’s take things back to the building. Today is deadline day, the first deadline day of the year. Our masterclass with Gaz left me feeling unstoppable and ready to take on Photoshop headfirst, that was until I actually tried Photoshop...

Turns out Photoshop wizzes must have some power I’m yet to possess. But enough about witchcraft, it’s currently a few hours before hand-in and I’m nowhere near done, instead I’m writing a blog.

If by some miracle I’m sitting happily with a beautiful gif when you’re reading this, then my prayers have been answered. If you see me crying, don’t ask, or turn it into a gif instead, if you want.

What does GIF stand for anyway? Get it finished?* I guess we’ll find out at 4.
