Dirty Nuggets

At SCA it seems that sometimes you can’t afford to wait to create a “big idea”, it’s better to be first in with a great smaller idea. The inner voice that says “no that’s not good enough…it’s not polished enough” needs to learn to be quiet and allow the idea to just flow freely.Don’t wait until there is enough time to make something that you think is good enough. Just make something and get your idea out there. Before somebody else does. It’s having confidence in your ability to think up exciting small ideas on the fly as well as the big stuff that you have ages to plan.Personally I’m not the best at this, and it’s something that I need to work on.I love to see and present a finished polished end result, rather than a smaller dirty nugget of an idea.Instead it’s about learning to trust that at the core of your dirty nugget is a chunk of solid gold encrusted with emeralds.A chunk of solid gold that whoever ends up swallowing your idea will choke on and remember. You need to trust that your dirty nuggets can go the distance.
