With only sixteen weeks left of the season and transfer deadline day looming on the horizon, a couple of teams are starting to see their first team players looking elsewhere.
Today, for example, we saw eight players enter the transfer market, and despite half already signing loan deals with other sides, the rest will certainly be keeping an eye open for potential positions in current teams they could fill.
But as history has shown us, there’s nothing like a bit of competition to bring a lagging player back to top form, so hopefully the fans will start getting a bit more for their money. It is a spectator sport after all.
There are of course those teams with a rich history and a solid fan base that can be fairly sure of their player’s loyalty, but stranger things have happened, and we almost saw our first big team go into administration just last week. Who knows what Monday will bring?
We’ll do our best to keep you up to date with all the transfer headlines and rumours from now until the end of the season in The Pulpit, every Friday.
