The Intake, what I learnt. By @ethanbennett94

The Intake, what I learnt.

As you may or may not know, the school is releasing the first episode of

The Intake soon on the Drum.

Nihal and I were fortunate enough to win editing rights to the first episode,

setting the tone for the rest of the series.

This was the first time ever scripting and editing constructed reality.

Not only that but a comedy…

What was clearly evident from the whole process of making the episode

was that collaboration beats individualism

outright every time. If we didn’t team up to get it done,

it certainly wouldn’t have come close to what it is.

I also learnt that you should jump on every opportunity that lands in front of you.

The first episode edit had a prize of £350, and there were only 3 edits entered.

If you’re not even in it, you’ll never win it.

The least you can do is put yourself in the running.

I learnt that no-one should ever try and act.

Luckily both Nihal and I shared the same vision for what the series should be like.

We borrowed elements from The Office, People Just Do Nothing, and a tiny bit

from Made In Chelsea when it came to one on one conversations.

Each episode will follow a different pair of characters,

with a storyline developed throughout. People play a different version of themselves.

It’s funnier if everyone is shit or a bit of twat.

It’s great now to see the second episode following on with improvements

developments. I hope this continues throughout and I’m very much

looking forward to seeing where the story goes.

Stay tuned!
