Perspective = Reality?

 

Reality: The state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.  A thing that is actually experienced or seen.

 

Perspective: The appearance of viewed objects with regard to their relative position, distance from the viewer, etc. A particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.

 

When two people are looking at the same thing, but see two different things, can we say that they’ve created their own reality?

 

That’s a relative question, and it depends on how you choose to consider it.

 

I personally think that we create our own reality, we are our own masters. We not only create it, but we control it, we have so much power that we don’t even know how to use it.

 

For some people, the glass of water will be half full, for others, it’ll be half empty, and that’s a matter of perspective, thus reality. Since they chose to consider the glass half full (or half empty), we can say that they forged their own reality. I see that as a choice, and the more choices you have, the freer you get.

 

Is that a good thing?

 

Yes. Having our own perspective and reality is what fuels our life. Seeing things in a different way, or creating new ways to see them is an unconscious (or not?) creative process.

 

Remember watching the clouds and guessing what they look like? Everyone has a different vision. What’s is amazing about that is the fact that we create our own worlds. Yes « worlds » with an « s » because we have infinite possibilities.

 

Few questions that I ask myself :

 

Does creating your reality enable you to control your happiness?

 

Do we create our reality and stick to our own perspective just to feel safe in our comfort zone?

 

Maybe it’s just about making sure that everything works in our favor?
