Over the past few weeks, itʼs been difficult to try and focus on anything other than SCA. Trying to Immerse in the new environment, meeting so many different people, following the processes, learning so many new things and finally meeting multiple deadlines. I know that in the weeks and months to come, Iʼll look back and what I thought was a juggling act then will seem like 2 days off now.

Before that ‘stormʼ begins thereʼs no better time to try and master this and get into the routine of knowing when to turn off and let my mind escape to anywhere other than briefs and deadlines. One of Vikkiʼs final comments on Friday was to remember that thereʼs a life outside of SCA which is just as important as any brief or deadline, this comment stuck with me and itʼs a great bit of advice.

On that note of mind escaping, Who is Elon Musk?
Iʼm always shocked if people donʼt know who he is but then again the industries and technology heʼs involved in arenʼt the every day, unless your planning a trip to Mars. Mars talk and inhabiting anywhere other than Earth has most people hooked (well definitely me) but the first time I heard of Musk was when I read the quote “We are all living in a simulation.” This line alone had me googling his name and hours later I knew more about him then I knew about most people in my family.

This pretty cool and mysterious theory of his in itʼs shortest ever explanation is: if you leap forward a few thousand years, the rate at which technology is advancing games will become indistinguishable from reality. So the chances of us now currently living and being in ‘realʼ reality (or base reality as he calls it) is very slim. He actually thinks itʼs a 1 in 2 billion chance. So we are potentially all just simulations!? :-0

Discovering a bit more about him, his life goal and mission statement which he wrote in his teens is “The only thing that makes sense to do is strive for greater collective enlightenment”. On his route to doing this, he made an eye-watering amount of money very young, selling one of his ventures called Paypal for $1.5 billion. With this neat little pile of cash, he decided to set up business in cars, energy, and rockets turning those industries on their head of sorts and waking a lot of sleeping giants along the way, getting the attention of many countries around the world.

Reading the biography itʼs hard not to get caught up in the ‘Musk worldʼ. It definitely gets my mind thinking and questioning what I think I know. At the very least Iʼve escaped, if only for a short time.
