Advertising Course Costs

step01School of Communication Arts is much cheaper than a three year degree

The course runs for 18-months (12 months in the school and then about six months of industry placements) but you will get more done than on a 3-year course. If you are taking out a student loan, this makes a massive difference. Work hard, play hard. Start earning money sooner. We achieve this by packing each day with briefs, masterclasses from industry legends and book crits. Our students work an average 50-hour week, which saves them money and prepares them to hit the ground running when they get their first big job in adland.

step02But worth considerably more, because it opens so many doors

With a ratio of 36 students and over 800 mentors, the contact hours available to SCA students is unprecedented. Our mentors come from the 100+ agencies that support our school, which means our students build up a network with industry leaders who can give them jobs. Imagine having the ECD’s of Ogilvy, AMV BBDO, BBH, W+K, Adam+Eve, Fallon, Jack Morton, JWT, Sapient Nitro, AKQA, Work Club, Albion and Mr President in your phone book. That’s a typical contact list for our students.

step03We could double our fees and still be better value than universities, or other Portfolio Schools.  Here’s why we don’t.

We believe that creativity demands diversity. We don’t want to be a school full of rich kids who are funded by the bank of mum and dad. We want the very best talent, wherever it comes from. Our school is a social enterprise, co-owned and supported by over 100 agencies. The generosity of our industry allows us to keep our fees relatively low, and helps us to provide scholarships.

step04Scholarships. Lots of scholarships.

We are able to distribute two types of scholarship at SCA; means and merit based. Means based scholarships are awarded through our charity partners and are specifically designed to widen diversity in the creative sector. Merit based scholarships are won through SCA competitions. We announce these competitions every April through our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Fees for students starting in September 2018 are £5,500 per term.

There are three terms.

So the total cost of the course is £16,500.

You are likely to be paid a living wage whilst on your placements.
